EGIA Foundation Announces 2021 HVAC Scholarship Winners

The EGIA Foundation is pleased to announce the 2021 recipients of its HVAC Scholarship award as part of its ongoing commitment to improving the workforce shortage in the home services industry. A judging panel of industry professionals selected 15 students based on financial need, academic merit, and career aspirations from a pool of over 200 applicants to receive $2,500 each to help cover the cost of HVAC-related tuition at accredited institutions during the 2021-2022 academic year.

The EGIA Foundation began the HVAC scholarship program with the hopes of attracting more tallented, hardworking young adults into the HVAC industry’s workforce in response to the widespread labor shortage affecting contracting businesses across the country. To date, the Foundaiton has granted 72 scholarships to students in 26 states totaling $180,000 to help educate the HVAC industry’s future workforce, including this year’s distribution of $37,500. The EGIA Foundation is proud to continue removing financial barriers to ensure talented, future industry workers can pursue HVAC career paths regardless of economic background.

“We are thrilled to award this year’s scholarships to 15 dedicated students, all of whom possess the integrity and excitement to impact the industry for decades to come,” said Bruce Matulich, Chairman and CEO of the EGIA Foundation. “The past year and a half have further emphasized the ongoing need for healthy, comfortable homes, as well as the professionals who can help maintain them. This class of qualified, enthusiastic students will continue to build the workforce that benefits every single person across the country.”

Beginning in the fall of 2021, the EGIA Foundation Scholarship Program will begin accepting applications for the 2022-23 academic year, where it will distribute up to 20 awards of $2,500 apiece.
