In the March 2023 Snapshot Survey, we asked contractors about their company’s approach to handling call-in service calls and service agreement program customers. Here’s one survey question and its results from the “Call-Ins vs Service Agreement Program” summary report, which will be available in its entirety to EGIA members on 4/27/23.

Does your company have a service agreement program?

EGIA Snapshot Survey - Call-Ins vs Service Agreement Program

Contractors have been told that service agreements are the life-blood of a contracting business as it benefits both them and their customers. In our recent survey, 98% of contractors indicated that their company does have a service agreement program that they offer to customers. By providing customers with regular maintenance and repair services, you can ensure that the equipment is working efficiently, differentiate your company from competitors, as well as build a loyal customer base. With scheduled maintenance in the books, your company will not only be able to balance the workload throughout the year, but also have a dependable source of revenue.

Here’s what an HVAC contractor from California said in the survey:

“Managing service agreements has not been easy, but their benefits cannot be ignored. Offering agreements on every service call has balanced out the slow season and made our customers super sticky to us.”
