Snapshot Survey Results | In-Home Sales Presentations

In the July 2022 Snapshot Survey, we asked contractors about specific elements of their in-home sales presentations to understand and share industry best practices with you. Here’s one survey question and its results from the “In-Home Sales Presentations” summary report, which will be available in its entirety to EGIA members on 8/20/22.

In what format do you present your sales presentation to your customers?

EGIA Snapshot Survey - In-Home Sales Presentations

Your in-home sales presentation is the biggest opportunity to build trust between a potential new client and your brand while demonstrating key elements of your business, such as technical expertise, warranties and guarantees, happy customers, and more. There are various ways contractors can deliver this information, from print outs to video testimonials to digital load calculations. The overwhelming majority of contractors who took our survey said they use a combination of both printed and digital resources during their in-home sales presentations. This provides flexibility and the ability to deliver a dynamic experience to the homeowner, one that will foreshadow the type of experience they’ll receive as a customer.

Here’s what an HVAC contractor from California said in the survey:

“Management has experimented with a variety of different materials to present the homeowner during our sales presentations and one resource we always include is testimonials from Google that we print out. We encourage them to take out their phone and search for more. We continuously leverage our 500 5-star reviews.”
