Snapshot Survey Results | Lead Coordination & Prioritizing Leads

In the June 2022 Snapshot Survey, we asked contracting business owners about how they coordinate and prioritize leads in order to help you incorporate best practice strategies into your company operations. Here’s one survey question and its results from the “Lead Coordination & Lead Prioritization” summary report, which will be available in its entirety to EGIA members on 7/20/22.

When does your company prioritize leads?

EGIA Snapshot Survey - Lead Coordination & Lead Prioritization

Lead prioritization refers to serving higher quality leads – high-intent purchasers, higher ticket, emergency service, etc. – before lower quality leads in order to maximize the time efficiency of employees and the revenue efficiency of the company. This practice can be especially useful for contracting businesses during their busiest seasons. According to the contractors who took our survey, the overwhelming majority (78%) of contractors said they prioritize leads year-round. 13% said they only prioritize leads during the busy season and 9% said they do not prioritize leads at all.

Here’s what an HVAC contractor from Ohio said in the survey:

“We ask urgency of the customer’s needs. If it is the demand season and it is not urgent to them, we offer the shoulder season.”
