Snapshot Survey Results | Working Remotely

In the January 2023 Snapshot Survey, we asked contractors about their approach to working remotely and the impact it has had on their company. Here’s one survey question and its results from the “Working Remotely” summary report, which will be available in its entirety to EGIA members on 2/27/23.

Has your business transitioned any roles to a remote position (permanently or temporarily)?

EGIA Snapshot Survey - Working Remotely

As we have seen from the last few years, the ability to effectively transition your team and operations to working remotely can greatly impact your company’s success, which is why it is important that your company has processes in place to ensure a smooth transition.

In our survey, 52% of contractors shared that they did not shift any of their operations to working remotely over the last few years, while 48% indicated that they did. The HVAC industry proved that it was and continues to be an essential service, however, not all aspects of a contracting business demand an in-person presenence. Regardless of the challenges your company may face, the ability to adapt and continue operating at full capacity is important to the future of your company.

Here’s what an HVAC contractor from Washington said in the survey:

“Working remotely while certainly appealing to the employee could be more appealing to us as the employer. Accountability, responsiveness, and team culture are essential to us, and going remote would compromise those core values.”
